Jess & Michael …

“We were so, so lucky to meet Gemma and Matt at a wedding fayre. At first it was the delicious food that drew us in but they are the most warm and welcoming people and after a little chat about all our ideas we knew we had to have them for our wedding.

Matt is incredibly knowledgeable about all different types of cuisines and executes everything to an impeccable standard. Gemma is the most organised person I’ve ever met, she thinks of aspects of the day that we wouldn’t have thought of and made our day run incredibly smoothly, she doesn’t miss a detail!

Literally all the food was amazing but by far our favourite dish was the truffle mac and cheese, our guests just don’t stop talking about it! We loved the way everything was presented, we wanted a massive sharing feast and they gave us that and more.

I couldn’t recommend Aperyer enough, from the initial meet to the tasting evening to the actual day they were faultless in every aspect. I’m just sad we can’t do it all over again!”

Jess and Michael wanted a fun-filled, colourful wedding and wow did they achieve it! As soon as we met them, this fabulous couples’ enthusiasm was infectious and we had so much fun putting together their bespoke menu based on their favourite foods and nods to the groom’s American heritage.

At the beautiful Loversall Farm, Doncaster, the day was a riot of fun filled with colour, music and a whole lot of laughter – bright florals and ribbons (Flowers by Kay), a sequin costume change, vodka jelly shots as favours made by the bride…

The whole atmosphere was electric from start to finish (Not to mention England winning the quarter final during their canape reception – cue lots of flag painted faces and Three Lions playing several times during their evening do) and then there was THAT first dance! These guys sure knew how to throw a party!

The couple wanted hearty and wholesome feasting to create a sense of fun and conviviality, we created huge platters of pork belly complete with cider sauce and mugs of crispy crackling served alongside the biggest mac ‘n’ cheese you’ve ever seen spiked with truffle oil for the main course followed by family style cherry Bakewell for dessert.

As the party moved outside of the tipi and into the wee hours, we served burritos for guests to grab and go and keep dancing. A super memorable day with a very special couple!

Mini bloody Mary shots with mozzarella arancini (v)

Family style cherry Bakewell with chantilly cream and fresh cherries
